Payrolling In It

with one comment

Here’s a copy of the payroll for the current West Ham squad and management. It’s one of those curios that floats around the internet. I have no idea if it’s real or not, but if it is a forgery then the fact that the person who created it went to the bother means that it is deserving of our attention. Particularly as they’ve added the filepath into the footer of the spreadsheet for a touch of reality, and as a decorative flourish colour-coded the contract expiry dates.

Obviously the most striking cells are the unpalatable salaries of serial crocks Dyer and Boa Morte, but almost as shocking is the fact that head coach Kevin Keen earns over £600,000 a year. Doesn’t he just put the cones out on the training ground? Surely he’s too little to carry all that money home?

I hope Mido hasn’t found this in his inbox. It must be galling for him. I can just imagine the rest of the players planning a night out on the tiles asking Mido if he wants to come along.

“Sorry chaps. I’m a bit short this month. Maybe I can come out after payday. I’m just going to stay in with a Tesco ready meal and Britain’s Got Talent’.

  1. West Ham’s latest statement on their website today http://www.whufc.com/articles/20100505/west-ham-united-statement_2236884_2043856 stated that it was fictitious and is the hands of the legal team. Still, worth a look since someone went to so much trouble.
